Redenham Dentist News and Events
Dental Awards
In April, Isabel and John attended the final of the national Dental Awards in London. Redenham Park Dental Practice had entered the section for the best Interior and Design Award. We were just pipped at the post by a practice who had converted a church – and I thought we were unusual in a converted stable!
The car park adjacent to the practice has been re-surfaced this month, so should be easier to negotiate this coming winter. The approach road to the practice is also going to be re-vamped, and the potholes filled in before the winter months.
British Dental Association Good Practice Scheme
The practice had this award when we were in Ludgershall. It is given to practices that show a commitment to their staff and patients of best practice in all aspects of the business. We are hoping to regain this status by the end of this summer. As we moved premises we have to show that these standards have been achieved in the new setting.
Professional Development Courses
We aim to keep up to date on all the latest techniques and materials so as to provide the best service we can for the patients and the practice.
April 2010 - All the team attended a one day conference on cross infection control and decontamination of instruments. It was a really interesting day and good to realise that we are already achieving what is considered best practice in this area.
In July - Isabel is attending a one day course in aesthetic and adhesive dentistry - this is about getting the best cosmetic result for our patients using the latest materials.
In September - the whole team is attending a one day conference on medical emergencies in the dental practice. Hopefully we will never have one but it is important that all the staff are trained to deal with these as efficiently and as professionally as possible. We attend updates on this subject every year as the national recommendations do change from time to time
